October is once again behind us and our most successful ServiceNow Hacktoberfest has concluded! Here are the final numbers for 2022:
520 Pull requests. A 15% increase over last year, but a HUGE increase of pull requests in projects that required higher-effort participation. 64% of Pull Requests this year were in higher-effort projects, compared to 14% last year. 396 Forks. A 36% increase over last year. 201 Unique Participants.

One of the ongoing issues that we deal with in the Developer Program is the continuity of the free Personal Developer Instances (PDI). No matter how well intentioned you are, it is always possible to have a time period where you are out of the office and miss the email about your Developer Instance expiring. I don’t like the idea of anyone losing their work but there is only so much we can do to prevent it.
We are past the half-way point of Hacktoberfest and wanted to highlight the amazing progress so far! If you haven’t participated yet, you still have time! Check out our Hacktoberfest 2022 post to get started.

Tokyo is here and today we want to highlight some of the new mobile features in Tokyo
A brief history ServiceNow had a mobile app called the ServiceNow Classic app for quite some time, introduced relatively early in ServiceNow’s history. This was the sole mobile app up until a few years ago. ServiceNow then acquired a low-code/no-code mobile app enterprise company called SkyGiraffe. The mission was to allow ServiceNow customers to be able to build their own mobile workflows without needing to write iOS or Android code.

Story time As some of you know, I was not always in tech. For the first five years of my career after school, I was working in student affairs and student housing at a university. Right before I joined my first tech-related job, my first dive into automation was when I worked as a contract manager. Yep, that’s right, my plunge into tech started with the automation of my day-to-day Excel spreadsheets.
